Homeward Bound Food & Beverage Service
Saturday, March 18, 2017 Homeward Bound is our largest event & fundraiser of the year! Includes a live band, food tastings, live & silent auctions. Assignment: Food and Beverage Service and Clean Up Time: 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm Overview: From 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., guests will be tasting samples from food and beverage vendors. Many restaurants can donate food but are not always able to be there in person. You will be assigned to a station to help serve food. Duties: For Food Service (5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.) ● Set up tables with food, chafing dishes and any other promotional materials sent along by the vendor. ● At approximately 5:45, begin plating samples and keep the table full (as much as demand requires) so guests wait in line as little as possible. Make sure you give them a generous portion without running out during the two hours. ● Direct guests to trash cans when necessary, or take their trash and throw away. After Food Service Ends (8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) • Move all food service items to the kitchen. Pack remaining plates, bowls, knives and forks back into boxes. Place any trays by the sink to be washed. • Begin rinsing any mason jars that are no longer in use. Clean trays and other reusable food service items. • Begin to pack up any additional food and beverage leftovers. • Stack boxes, trays and food for easy removal to the U-Haul after the program ends.
