What: Youth and Family Community Project ~ Colorado Public Lands Day and Boulder Community Cleanup Day Project Site: Sawhill Ponds When: 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 20 Parking/Registration: Sawhill Ponds, https://bouldercolorado.gov/osmp/sawhill-ponds-trailhead Please note that this location will not appear on your confirmation email when you sign-up, it will appear as 'To Be Determined'. You will need to click on the description link for the project and location details. Project Help clean up one of our precious wetland ecosystems. Join OSMP staff for a community work day and a spring hike at Sawhill Ponds. Volunteers will clean-up the area in and around the ponds. Throughout the morning, naturalists will share information about the local wetland ecology. Youth and families are encouraged. We are asking volunteers to bring their own gloves and trash bags for the event. After the event, ice cream will be severed at Scott Carpenter Park, starting at 11:30 AM. Project Difficulty Easy. Project will involve walking on uneven terrain, bending and lifting. Preparation for the day, what you will need for the day: --Two quarts of water or camel packs. --Dress in layers. --Work gloves. --Sturdy boots (No lightweight shoes, or “five-finger” types of shoes.) --Long pants. --Rain jacket. --A long sleeved T-shirt. --Personal first aid kit, if you have one (OSMP will have a group first aid kit.) --Backpack to carry personal items. --Sunglasses, hat and sunscreen. --Clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Dress appropriately for Colorado weather and to work in an outdoor setting off trail. If volunteers come unprepared, you will not be allowed on the project site.
