The Youth Opportunities Advisory Board (YOAB) is comprised of 16 City of Boulder resident high school students, ages 14 to 18. YOAB promotes the youth voice in the community, provides opportunities for city youth, and advises the municipal government on youth-related policies and issues. Board members represent many aspects of Boulder’s youth community, are appointed by the City Manager and serve one-year renewable terms. YOAB is a program of the City of Boulder's Youth Opportunities Program (YOP). Youth Opportunities Program (YOP) strengthens the community through empowering youth, providing opportunities for youth, encouraging youth civic participation and volunteer work, and advising city government.
